BLUES FALL 5-1 TO SWAN VALLEY

A three-goal third period guided the Swan Valley Stampeders to a 5-1 win over the Winnipeg Blues.

Swan Valley scored two goals in the first period, but it was Winnipeg who had the majority of chances in the first. Kobe Grant made some spectacular saves to keep his team out front.

The Blues continued to pour it on in the second, striking on the power play to pull within one. Jake Dale tipped home a Pearce Gare point shot for his second as a Blue. Ryan Ostermann got a helper to give him two points in his first two games with Winnipeg.

Early in the third, the Stampeders got their two-goal lead back. After that, they evened the ice and locked things down, adding two more goals late in the third to seal the deal.

Winnipeg plays at home for the first time in 2022 Friday night with the Virden Oil Capitals coming to the Manitoba capital. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
