Blues Post a Convincing Win

Despite an early bout of penalties the Blues killed them off and went on a goal scoring onslaught that saw them rack up 9 unanswered goals enroute to a 9 to 0 route of the Blizzard.

Kleysen opened the scoring with assists to Curtis and Pruden followed up shortly with a goal from Curtis assisted by Shwaluk and Snook.  Mutch rounded out the period with assists from Lewis and Curtis.

The visitors spirits were pretty much broken when Captain Taeron Lewis ripped one by the tender shorthanded.  The OCN tender showed his frustration by pulling himself at that point.  The next three goals came on the power play – Macgillivray (Kroeker and Esteves), Nault (Lewis and Kleysen) and Stefanson (Snoek and McIsaac).

Stefanson rounded out the scoring in the third unassisted on the power play.

As expected things got a bit rough but the Blues got out without any major injuries.  Kleysen did pick up the Gordie Howe hat trick with a fight late in the third. Jacob Gnidziejko stopped all 29 for the shutout.

Next up – Portage in Portage on Sunday.

Go Blues!!!
