Blues Season Comes to a Close

On a night that mother Nature announced her presence with authority, the Portage Terriers reminded everyone why they are the number one ranked team in Junior A Hockey. While it’s not fashionable in todays sports world to give credit to the “Other Team” I am going to give credit where credit is due – the Portage Terriers are one heck of a hockey team.

The Blues left it all on the ice, but unfortunately that wasn’t enough. Hanging with the Terriers for the first period the Blues entered the dreaded second frame and quickly found themselves on the penalty kill and off the face-off found themselves down a goal. Like sharks in a feeding frenzy the Terriers found the back of the net four more times before the Blues Kamerin Nault chipped one by Park on a pass from Landry.

The third saw teams exchange goals and penalties. Gianluca Esteves scored with help from Kroeker and Stefanson at the 13 minute mark only to have Portage score a minute later.

That brings a close to the 2015/16 Winnipeg Blues season. Stay tuned to our page for the latest news including the teams award winners and graduating player profiles.

We would also like to congratulate the Portage Terriers and wish them well in the future!
