Blues Season Ends In Steinbach
The Blues needed to pick up their game Thursday night in Steinbach if they wanted their season to continue.
However the Pistons jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first. Their first goal was on the powerplay 5:47 in. The Pistons got it to 2-0 with 8:08 left and finished off the period with 56 seconds remaining for a 3-0 advantage.
The second saw one more Pistons goal to make it 4-0 only 3:22 in. At that point backup Brian Archibald was called upon with the hope that he could hold the fort and the players in front of him could generate some offence. Archibald did his part for the remainder of the game but the Blues in front of him just couldn’t click, the game finishing 4-0 in favour of the Pistons, eliminating the reigning MJHL champs four games to one.
Thanks go out to the Blues graduating players, including goaltender Brian Archibald, defencemen Cole Berreth, Ryan Bittner, Mack Heisinger and Joren Johnson, and of course forwards Liam Bilton, Brett Brooks, and Jake Stilwell. Best of luck with your future hockey and life endeavors!
