Blues Take Flyers to Shootout

In what turned out to be a very fast and entertaining game the visiting Winkler Flyers got the extra point winning in a shootout.

The Flyers opened the scoring early in the game but Reid Stefanson found the back of the net on a pass from Lewis and Esteves then five minutes later Stefanson wins a draw back to Lewis who fired one at the net and managed to find it’s way in.

The second period saw the Flyers tie the game up at the nine minute mark only to have the Blues retake the lead a few minutes later on a Mitch Hansen goal from Kroeker and Browning.  Unfortunately the Blues couldn’t hold the lead and the Flyers scored on a power play several minutes later.

Despite a great deal of pressure in the third by the Blues nothing found its way into the Flyers net.  Same deal in OT so it was off to the dreaded shootout where Jordan Williamsons goal proved to be the winner.
