DAUPHIN TAKES DOWN WINNIPEG 6-0 ON TEDDY BEAR TOSS NIGHT
The Dauphin Kings came out on their teddy bear toss night and tossed the Winnipeg Blues out with a 6-0 win.
Jeriah Shantz scored 2:25 in to send the stuffies raining down. The crowd at Credit Union Place tossed enough teddies to fill the bed of a pick-up truck. They were taken off after a five-minute cleanup supported by the Parkland Crossing and give kids in need a new friend this Christmas.
Kayden Bryant scored on a nice cut to the middle off the close wall to extend the Kings’ advantage to 2-0, and that would be the score after 20.
Dauphin scored early in the second to go up three, and while the Blues tried to push back, it wasn’t enough. Dauphin scored two more goals in the final 2:04 to go up by five.
The third period saw a goalie change for Winnipeg. Dawson Green was pulled after allowing five goals on 27 shots. It’s the first time Winnipeg has pulled their goalie this season.
Dawson Cowan entered the game in relief, allowing one goal against.
The Blues have now lost six of their last seven games, including three games against the Kings. Winnipeg plays their next game on Thursday, December 16 on the road against the Waywayseecappo Wolverines. Fans can listen to the game live on mixlr.com/gametimeradiomb.
