Former Winnipeg Blues head coach Taras McEwen had accepted a role as an assistant coach
with the WHL’s Winnipeg ICE.
McEwen originally joined the Blues as the GM before the 2019-20 season – he hopped behind
the bench after Gord Burnett joined the Moose Jaw Warriors’ staff.
McEwen joining the ICE makes it two straight coaches the Blues have advanced to the next
level.
The Blues went 34-22-1-3 in two seasons with McEwen at the helm.
