Graduating Player Profile – # 15 – Taeron Lewis

The final instalment of our 2016 Graduating Class is one of my very favourite players. Last seasons Captain, Taeron Lewis did everything and did it well. He was like the really big Swiss Army knife, he could hit, shoot, fight, score, kill penalties, play power plays and get the job done over all 200 feet of ice.

Never afraid of “getting his sniffer dirty” you would always find Taeron battling tooth and nail with some of the biggest and meanest defencemen in front of the net, usually winning the battle and always undeterred.

A natural leader, Taeron wore the “C” this season along with splitting time the previous season with Brett Brooks. He finished up his MJHL career with 48 goals, 73 assists for 131 points over 171 games. In his final season he ended up 7th in league scoring with 68 points – an average of 1.2 points per game. Pretty impressive considering he was being tasked with shutting down other teams top players and kill penalties on a nightly basis.

On behalf of the Winnipeg Blues Jr. A, team-mates and fans we wish you all the best in the future in both hockey and life. We know your work ethic and determination will do you well.
