JAKE DALE COMMITS TO OHIO UNIVERSITY BOBCATS

Jake Dale has committed to the Ohio University Bobcats for Division III hockey next season.

Ohio University, located in Athens, Ohio, plays out of the American Collegiate Hockey Association. Dale says it was the school’s academic life mixed with the hockey team that drew him to commit.

“It was a pretty easy choice to go there and I’m excited for the future,” said Dale.

The Calgary local has 11 goals and 20 points in 27 games with the Blues this season. Several teams courted Dale, but Ohio’s pitch topped them all.

“It seemed like it was a place where I’ll be wanted and welcomed,” Dale said.

Dale has been a key player for the Blues since they acquired him from the Pembroke Lumber Kings (CCHL) on November 27.

“Dale’s been great for us since we’ve brought him here and we’re pleased to see he’ll move on to the next level in Ohio,” said head coach Taras McEwen

Ahead of the MJHL Playoffs, Dale wants to stay focused on a Turnbull Cup run and use it to make his game more consistent so he’s ready to contribute right when he puts on a Bobcats jersey.

“To be a good player at the next level you have to doing [the right things] consistently, night in and night out,” said Dale.

Jake Dale is the first Winnipeg Blues player to make a commitment this season.
