Matthew O’Sullivan Traded to Dauphin Kings in Exchange for Justin Perreault and a PDF
Winnipeg, MB – The team announced Friday that they have traded 2006 born forward, Matthew O’Sullivan to the Dauphin Kings, in exchange for 2007 born goaltender, Justin Perreault, along with a player development fee.
The trade comes in lieu of Saturday evening’s trade deadline, as all teams across the country look to find their final pieces for the remainder of the season, or to bolster the roster headed into the playoffs.
O’Sullivan led the Blues in points on the 2025-26 campaign with 32 points in 30 games, scoring an impressive 18 goals during that span. Matthew is deep into his third junior hockey season, and his second in the MJHL, scoring over 54 points across 83 games. With a season stint in the GOJHL sandwiched in between both of his MJHL seasons, Matthew found the back of the net over 19 times, following with a handsome 26 helpers before joining the Blues in 2025.
The Blues trade away this firepower, and in exchange get some amazing goaltending in Justin Perreault. The Winnipeg native comes home, after standing as the Backup goaltender most of the season for the Dauphin Kings in the MGEU-West, where he saw 13 games between the pipes, winning 6 of them with a combined save percentage of .910. Follow that up with a pair of shutouts on the season, and Perreault sits within the MJHL’s top 10 for save percentage and goals against average among goaltenders. Perreault was also drafted in the 12th round of the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft to the Winnipeg Ice, and has made his way to the Spokane Chiefs via trade where he spent some time this season.
The Blues are in action twice this weekend as they host their Winnipeg rival, the Winnipeg Monarchs in a 7:30pm showdown on Friday where they will look to find a way back into the win column. Neepawa also comes to town on Sunday before the Blues travel to Waywayseecappo on Tuesday. You can listen to all the action live, for free, on the Winnipeg blues site through Blues Radio or watch through FloHockey.TV
