BLUES ANNOUNCE ALEX MANDOLIDIS AS HEAD COACH AND GENERAL MANAGER

Winnipeg, MB – The Winnipeg Blues Hockey Club announced today that Alex Mandolidis has been named Head Coach and General Manager. 

Mandolidis joins the Blues with over 14 years of coaching and development experience.  He has most recently spent three seasons as an assistant coach with the Men’s Mount Royal University program in USports. There he was responsible for developing and working with the forwards. Alex was also heavily involved in the video coaching and video sessions for the team.  Prior to then, Mandolidis spent a season as the assistant coach with the AJHL’s Calgary Mustangs.

Alex has also spent time in the past serving as Head Coach of various AAA teams in the Alberta Hockey system.  Alex has also served Hockey Alberta in various capacities including the Head Coach of multiple Alberta Cup teams throughout his coaching career.

“I am thrilled to be joining the Blues organization and look forward to working with the players and staff to provide a great opportunity to play junior hockey in the City of Winnipeg.” said Alex Mandolidis.  “The staff and resources that have been put together for the Blues makes it a great program for players to develop and move on to the next level.” 

Prior to coaching, Alex spent parts of four seasons playing junior hockey in the Alberta Junior Hockey League.
