Pre Game Report | Blues look for bounce back effort against Selkirk

Winnipeg, MB – The Winnipeg Blues (1-3-0-0) will look for a bounce back effort on Saturday night as the squad travels to Selkirk to face the Steelers (0-3-0-0).

Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 P.M. CT at the Selkirk Recreational Complex.

The Blues are coming off of a lack luster effort against the Winkler Flyers 24 hours ago. The Blues trailed 4-0 and were outshot 26-7 after 40 minutes before attempting to make a comeback. Goals from Carson Tiede and Braden Fischer cut the Flyers lead in half in the final frame but that is as close as the Blues would come.

The Steelers are still searching for their first victory of the 2019-2020 campaign. On Friday, the Steelers dropped a 3-2 decision to the defending MJHL Champion Portage Terriers. The Steelers have also lost twice to the Virden Oil Capitals.

This is the first time the Blues and the Steelers have met during the regular season, however, both teams did clash four times in exhibition with the Blues going 1-3 during that stretch.
