READ: JOSIAH VANDERHOOFT NAMED MJHL PLAYER OF THE MONTH

Josiah Vanderhooft is September’s Player of the Month in the MJHL.

The East St. Paul local scored three goals and basketed seven assists in the season opening series against the Winnipeg Freeze. His twelve points led the league in the first month.

Vanderhooft attributed his success to his team’s hard work in getting ready for the new season.

“Everybody on our team is focused on winning the championship and putting everything they have into winning,” said Vanderhooft.

The winger continued his hot start into October, with two goals and an assist in the first two games against Portage. He has at least one point in all six games so far.

Vanderhooft is currently tied for the league lead in points with his line mate Eric Fawkes.
