Josiah Vanderhooft and Dawson Green have both committed to university hockey next season.
Vanderhooft is heading to Trinity Western University to play with the Spartans in U Sport.
The forward garnered 142 points in 148 MJHL games through his career, including 53 goals, 77 assists for 130 points in 106 games with the Blues.
With the Spartans, Vanderhooft will reunite with former Blues teammate Mitchell Joss.
Meanwhile, Green will play for the University of Wisconsin-Stout Blue Devils next year in NCAA Division III.
Green started 43 games for the Blues this season, finishing with a record of 23-17-1.
The Brandon local’s 2.90 GAA and .912 save percentage helped him finish as one of the finalists for goalie of the year – Green also scored a goal against the Selkirk Steelers in October, the MJHL’s first goalie goal since 2013.
“We are thrilled for both Josiah and Dawson to be continuing their hockey career at the collegiate level,” said Blues head coach Alex Mandolidis.
“They made a positive impact with the Blues organization and we expect they will be strong contributors for their new teams.”
The Winnipeg Blues wish Josiah and Dawson the best going forward in their hockey careers.
