Winnipeg Blues Auto-Protect Two Defensemen.

MONDAY APRIL 20, 2020 – The Winnipeg Blues announced today that they have auto-protected 2005-born defensemen, Grayson Burzynski and Blake Jones ahead of the 2020 Manitoba Junior Hockey League Draft.

Burzynski, a 6’3, 203lbs defenseman, played 36 games for the Winnipeg Monarchs in the Winnipeg AAA Hockey League this season.  He recorded 19 goals and 39 assists for a total of 58 points in his Bantam 1 campaign.

Jones, also a defenseman for the Winnipeg Monarchs played in 36 games for the club this season.  The 5’3, 105lbs defender scored 10 goals and added 39 assists for 49 points.

Each member club is given the opportunity to list two players born in 2005 from their respective home zone.  The 2020 Auto-Protect list features 17 players who will no longer be eligible for the upcoming 2020 MJHL Draft.
