Winnipeg, MB – The Winnipeg Blues announced on Thursday that 2002-born defenceman Nick Finnson and 2001-born forward Aidan Shumka have committed to the organization.
Finnson, from Stonewall, MB, played 23 regular season games with Pilot Mound Varsity of the Canadian Sports School Varsity Hockey League during the 2018-2019 campaign. In those 23 games, Finnson scored four goals and added 12 assists for 16 points. The five-foot-ten, 165-pound defender added seven assists in four playoff games.
Shumka, from Kenora, ON, played in 46 regular season games with the Kenora Thistles Midget AAA of the Manitoba Midget Hockey League last season. The five-foot-ten, 181-pound forward recorded 13 goals and 16 assists for 29 points in those 46 games.
