READ: Eric Fawkes Named to MJHL’s Three Stars of Week One.

Eric Fawkes has been selected as one of the MJHL’s three stars for the first week of the season.

The Blues right-winger got off to a great start with his new team. Fawkes scored four goals and tallied three assists for seven points in his first two games, both Blues wins. Fawkes is looking forward to seeing where this team can go this year.

“It’s been really fun and exciting coming into Winnipeg,” Fawkes said. “The guys have really embraced me and welcomed me in.”

Fawkes gives a lot of credit for his strong start to his two linemates, Brayden Foreman and Josiah Vanderhooft.

“They really couldn’t have made it much easier for me to come back into the league,” said Fawkes.

Fawkes started the season with a hat trick, and followed it up with a game-winning one-timer the next night. The hot start is even more special for him now that he’s back in front of family and is playing a key role on the top line.

Winkler Flyers winger Justin Svenson and Waywayseecappo Wolverines goalie Liam Tereposky were the other stars of the week.
