Forseth Nets Overtime Winner

On a fine Saturday night in late October the Wolverines rolled into town and gave the hometown Blues all they could handle. However the Blues came up with some overtime magic to grab the victory.

Wayways Landon Cochrane opened the scoring for the visitors five minutes into the first. Almost ten minutes later Kuczek fed Levi Cudmore to tie things up at one and thats where it would stay for the period.

Geordie Keane put the Blues ahead in the second with assists going to Goodbrandson and Tulik. At that point both goaltenders shut the door despite excellent chances at both ends of the rink.

In the final frame of regulation James McIsaac found the back of the net, assist going to Goodbrandson putting the Blues up 3 to 1 in what could have been a comfortable lead however… Two late goals from the pesky Wolverines, first Durdle at the sixteen minute mark followed by Stanley at the eighteen minute mark tied things up forcing overtime.

With lots of open ice during the ot both teams had some quality chances however a hooking penalty put the Blues on the power play where Michael Forseth scored the winner, Kuczek and Cumore picking the assists.

Next home game sees the league leading Steinbach Pistons come to town on Nov 3rd.
