A big pair of shoes are being left to fill with the graduation of Mitch Hansen. This rugged forward always brought a complete effort every night on every inch of ice whether it was in the form of a bone crunching bodycheck, winning a puck battle, battling in front of the net or dropping the mitts with some of the leagues toughest players. In addition, he had to have been one of the league leaders in the art of “on ice conversations”.
As a team mate you knew that Mitch had your back in any situation against anyone. Over his time with the Blues he notched 21 goals and 33 assists along with 237 pims over the regular season.
It is fitting with the way Mitch played that he is moving with his career choice. He will be following in his father’s footsteps as a fireman. Clearly his fearless and courageous ways in hockey will serve him well. From the Blues and their fans we wish you all the best in the future!
