Winnipeg native Skyler Bruce commits to the Winnipeg Blues

Winnipeg, MB – The Winnipeg Blues announced on Thursday that 2003-born forward Skyler Bruce has signed with the organization.

The Winnipeg native played the 2018-2019 season with the RHA Elite 15s of the Canadian Sports School Hockey League (CSSHL). In 34 regular season games, the five-foot-nine, 141-pounder registered 27 goals and added 37 assists for 64 points. Bruce added three goals and six points in four playoff games.

Last season, Bruce led the CSSHL Elite 15 division in points and assists, and was awarded the division’s top scorer award.

Bruce was also a member of Team Manitoba at the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer, Alberta. He scored two goals and three points in six tournament games.

Bruce is a 2018 second round draft pick (29th overall) of the Winnipeg ICE of the WHL.
