A strong third period enabled the Blues to get by the visiting Neepawa Natives Tuesday night by the score of 5-3.
The Blues came out firing in the first with an early goal by Bilton (his 21st of the year) only 1:06 in. That was followed five minutes later when Gianluca Esteves cruised in on the left wing and snapped home his 9th to make it 2-0. The Blues weekend went from one end of the spectrum (1-0 shootout win on Friday) to the other (10-6 loss on Sunday).
The Blues had plenty of chances Friday night against the visiting OCN Blizzard, firing 41 shots but all were stopped and the teams headed to overtime. Again, the Blues outplayed everyone on OCN but the goaltender and another shootout was needed. Mack Heisinger has commited to Division III Curry College near Boston. The 20 year old will join his brother and former Winnipeg Blue Jake who currently suits up for the Colonels. Heisinger has been a key member of the Blues blue line for the past two seasons, playing big time minutes against many of the top lines in the MJHL. Heisinger has suited up for 93 games with the Blues, lighting the lamp seven times while adding 37 assists.Click here to continue
